Clean Up Recap and Yard Sale Days Info

Hello Neighbors!

Last Saturday, April 30th, LWNA participated in the Great American Cleanup.  We are grateful for the wonderful volunteers (both in getting out the newsletters and at the clean-up itself) and for the City crew who went above and beyond picking up our trash bags by helping us clear out the tumbleweeds (i.e. fire hazard) in the arroyo and open space.  If you weren’t able to make it, we’re looking forward to next year’s event and will hopefully see you there!

Not only did we get the neighborhood looking great, we had a chance to chat and get to know our neighbors.  Check out the pictures from the event, below.

We also wanted to give you an update on the “yard sale days.” Clear out those closets and get ready for the sale weekend – beginning Thursday May 19th.  Have your sale as few or many days as you want – it’s up to you.  We will be advertising on craigslist, nextdoor and our marquees. So, with a neighborhood full of sales and free advertising it’s the perfect time to Spring clean and make a little bit of money!

Looking forward!

Neighborhood Cleanup Reminder – This Saturday!

Hello Neighbors! THIS SATURDAY (April 25th) is our Neighborhood Cleanup and Volunteer Lunch!!!  Have you been meaning to do this in the past but weren’t able to? Well, make this the year!  Even if you only have an hour to spare, it will make a difference and is appreciated!  Here’s the schedule:

Anytime between 9:00 – 12:00: pick up your supplies (plastic bags, gloves and beverages) at Riconada Park; you’ll let the LWNA board members know what areas of the neighborhood you’ll be cleaning so that we can send a truck by to collect your bags after the clean-up.

Between 9:00 – 12:00 – clean up the area of the neighborhood you selected and leave the bags at the end of the streets.

12:00 – come back to the park for a picnic lunch provided by LWNA and take some time to socialize with your neighbors, meet the board members and get some handy handouts on the Association, crime prevention and other good neighborhood resources.

While it’s not mandatory to sign-up ahead of time, it will help us get a head-count for supplies (and lunch!). Planning on participating? Sign up here:
