Ladera West Neighborhood Association Update

Hello Neighbors!

We hope you have been enjoying Fall in New Mexico – the smell of roasting chiles, the balloon-filled sky and the change in the weather…

There have been some changes to the LWNA, including the election of new board members and the addition of the position of Vice President.   The board was thrilled to see so many of you at the annual meeting and is excited to get to work.  The new board consists of:

Hope Eckert – President
Vanessa Chavez – Vice President
Steve Collins – Secretary (after serving tirelessly as the association’s President for 3 years, Steve graciously accepted the position of Secretary to allow others to serve as President)
Shariesse McCannon – Treasurer
Karen Buccola – Member

The board met on October 13th, and in addition to electing the officers, set its Mission Statement and goals for the year.  We hope to accomplish our mission of “Working together to build a better neighborhood” by fostering community spirit, increasing LWNA membership, and beautifying the neighborhood.  To that end, we are striving towards having the biggest and best “Keep America Beautiful” Neighborhood Cleanup ever!  This will happen in April and will be paired with a fun community activity (details to follow, but what do you think of a potluck?).   If you have ay ideas or would like to help organize, please post a comment and we’ll be in touch!!!

The board would like to thank Sue and Ike Gilmore and Marian Meyer (and Barry King) for their many years of serving on the board and for their continued dedication to the neighborhood.
